Good vs. Better

I just got back from giving a mission about 45 minutes outside New Orleans. I couldn't help but make the trip one of those days, seeing a good friend and eating some of the best seafood I've had.

"You wouldn't believe how much better the shrimp is here!" I said to Teresa over the phone.

"Uh, yes, I would, it's fresh."

I eat a lot of shrimp at home, and it's good. But none comes close to the shrimp in New Orleans. It's just... better.

I think there's a lot to say for the difference between good and better in our relationship with God.

We pat ourselves on the back for doing a "good job," all the while our Lord is begging us to go deeper, pray harder and love better---than we did yesterday.

So, try and up it a notch this week. Strive for the better in our faith, and see the vast difference it can make.

Friends, be confident in Christ's mercy and love.
