Know Peace

Many talk about it, most want it, few have it. You know--peace. So, why is it so hard to come by these days?

We've done a pretty good job convincing ourselves that peace will eventually come with financial security, good health, family stability and retirement. And while all of those things are certainly good, they will never bring us what we're after.

Peace, friends, comes in building our house on rock--not sand (Matt 7:24). Those few goods I named above, you know--the sand, cannot hold life's foundation. But the rock can.

So what is the rock?

Build your foundation on him. Spend time with him this third week of Advent in silent prayer, so the foundation he brings--the foundation of peace--will be born anew into your hearts this Christmas.

Friends, be confident in Christ's mercy and love.

Pray big

We disappoint God when we don't ask big things of him. There, I said it.

Do we think He can't handle it? Do we think God really can't change that persons heart most in need of change? Do we think He can't move the mountain of hurt or un-forgiveness in our lives? Do we think He can't bring healing to our marriage?

Do we really believe that the God of the universe--Alpha and Omega--the One who Is,
Was, and Ever Will Be--is not bursting at the seems to make big things happen, today?

If you don't, than we're not reading the same Bible.

Pray big my friends. God can handle it.

Friends, be confident in Christ's mercy and love.
